Our Aims
Anti Bullying Statement
Bullying arises from a wish to hurt, threaten or frighten someone deliberately, often quietly and frequently. Everyone regards bullying as an unacceptable behaviour.
Bullying can be physical (pushing kicking, taunting, name-calling). It can be silent isolation, damaging someone’s property or taking property without permission. It is, however, a question of degree. Situations often happen between children which are temporary and do not constitute bullying or domination of one child over another.
Incidents that involve bullying are always treated seriously and we encourage children to speak of their concerns as soon as they occur. If you have any concerns talk to me, the headteacher or to your child’s class teacher.
Child Protection
We follow the procedures that have been laid down by the Leicestershire Area Child Protection Committee. All adults working within the school will be checked under the CPR regulations.
Curriculum
Our Curriculum is one for the 21st Century.
We aim for all children at our school to develop to their full potential. Our curriculum is based on four main principles: broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated.
We follow the national frameworks for the curriculum including the foundation stage, the national curriculum, and the national literacy and numeracy strategies.
We deliver the curriculum using a multi-sensory and stimulating approach. We believe that children learn best when they are fully engaged and they are encouraged to develop as individual learners and problem solvers.
Your child will enjoy all the following subject areas during their time at Newbold CE Primary School: reading, writing, mathematics, science, ICT, history, geography, music, art, design technology, physical education, modern foreign languages, religious education, citizenship and extra-curricular activities
As we have more than one age group in each class, work is carefully differentiated to suit the needs of all the children and carefully structured programmes are used for all the children.
Equal Opportunities
We are committed to achieving equal opportunity through our education provision. The whole curriculum is available to everyone irrespective of race, sex, disability, age and class. We aim to ensure the highest level of pupil achievement for pupils.
Our policy on equal opportunities is concerned with enabling all children to achieve their fullest potential, develop all their talents and ensure all their contributions are equally valued.

Bullying is a serious issue but it is also an emotive word and the context in which it is used is important and must be considered.
